    Short Forms atau Contraction sangat sering digunakan dalam bahasa inggris. Selain untuk mempersingkat suatu istilah kata bahasa inggris, juga berguna untuk mempermudah atau mengefektifkan pelafalan bahasa inggris. Short Forms sendiri di definisikan sebagai bentuk lisan dan tulis dalam kondisi formal maupun tidak formal yang dibuat menjadi ringkas dari kata atau satu set kata-kata dalam bahasa inggris yang sering kita sebut sebagai singkatan. 2. Penggunaan lain :

* Who's your favorit Football Player? (Who's = Who is)

* What's the time now? (What's = What is)

* Sudarma's is Handsome boy in the class (Name's : Name is)

* What colour's your car? (What colour is your car)

3. Negative Constraction

* isn't = is not                            * Hasn't = Has not                * Don't = Do not

* aren't = are not                        * Haven't = Have not           * Doesn't = Does not

* wasn't = was not                      * Hadn't                               * Didn't = Did not 

Can, Could, will, would, should, must, need

* Can't = Cannot

* Couldn't = Could not

* Won't = Will not

* Shouldn't = Should not

* Mustn't = Must not

* Needn't = Need not
